Why HSBC
We are on a mission to unlock HSBC’s full potential. We’ll achieve this by becoming a simple, more agile, focused organisation to better serve our customers. That is why we have refreshed our ambition: To be the most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
This is a senior role with scope to influence and deliver change. The bank has set a bold ambition to be the most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do. You will join a dynamic and growing team dedicated to making that happen.
The Customer and Culture team partner with the businesses to deeply understand our customers, earn their trust, and improve their experience. We work hand in hand with the How We Lead programme, enabling every team to connect more closely to our customers and seek to improve their experience. By measuring customer outcomes and culture, we help the bank to see a changing world clearly through our customers’ eyes.
The Role
As Director of Customer Analytics, you’ll shape the next generation of customer intelligence at HSBC and turn insight into action across the organisation. Working at the intersection of customer experience, commercial decision-making, data and technology you’ll connect stakeholders around the questions that matter most. The role focuses on building an integrated view of the customer and ensuring insights are understood, trusted and translated into measurable improvements in customer outcomes and performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
