Most leadership roles ask you to inherit a business. This role offers the opportunity to help build one.

Ryan has a clear ambition: to build one of the world's leading Customs and Foreign Trade practices.

We are investing in talent, innovation, technology, and international capability to create a market-leading business recognised for technical excellence, commercial impact, and transformative client solutions.

As we accelerate this growth, we are seeking an entrepreneurial Director to help shape the next chapter of our journey. This is an opportunity to join at a pivotal stage, influence strategy, build client relationships, develop new service offerings, grow exceptional teams, and establish a lasting market legacy.

For the right individual, this is more than a leadership role, it is an opportunity to help build something unique.

As a Director, you will be responsible for leading and growing a significant part of the Customs and Foreign Trade practice.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and multinational organisations, lead complex and strategically important engagements, drive revenue growth, and help define the future direction of our service offerings. You will work across multiple industries and sectors, supporting clients facing increasingly complex international trade challenges.

This is a highly visible leadership role that combines technical excellence, commercial leadership, innovation, people development, and market influence.

We are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to build, lead, and grow. Someone who sees the changing trade environment not simply as a compliance challenge, but as an opportunity to create value for clients and shape the future of our profession.

This position is located in Manchester, UK or London, UK

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
