The Team

Deliveroo for Work is Deliveroo’s B2B arm, offering simple and flexible food solutions to corporate clients across all of our markets. We are on a mission to help businesses create satisfied and engaged teams by delivering great food for their working days. From team lunches to late-night meals to office events and even pantry supplies - Deliveroo for Work has every business food need covered.

We are looking for a 12m maternity cover for the Director DfW UKI. In this role you are the P&L owner for our domestic and largest corporate market, with UKI making up 65% of our DFW business. The scale of this portfolio means that this role is uniquely positioned for designing, building and implementing commercial strategic initiatives, and you will be a key input into our marketing, product and strategic workstreams. This role is based at our HQ in London and reports directly to the Global Director of Deliveroo for Work.

What you’ll be doing

Leadership:

  • Accountability for delivering financial targets and for the UKI DfW P&L.
  • Working closely with cross-functional global DfW leadership (Tech, Product, Marketing, Commercial, S&O) as well as with multiple internal Deliveroo teams (e.g. Financial Operations, Legal, Merchant, Consumer, Grocery, Rider Operations) to maximise growth opportunities.

Team Management:

  • Leading a team of 21 based across our London, Manchester and Dublin offices.
  • Directly line managing four managers whose teams include Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Sales Development Representatives and Account Management Service Agents.
  • Role modelling best-in-class behaviours, building an inclusive culture and driving high standards within your team.

Strategic vision:

  • Building, rolling out and then scaling commercial strategy globally.
  • Being a vital input into building a DfW Product roadmap that works hard for UK&I.
  • Working with the DfW Marketing team to build and execute on a cohesive GTM sales strategy.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Managing and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders (across Deliveroo, Wolt and Doordash.
  • Externally, being the final point of escalation for the clients managed by your team and owning the top-to-top relationship with key clients usually at C-suite level (CPO, CFO).

Technical Expertise:

  • Having a deep technical understanding of the DfW product in order to translate client needs into actionable problem statements for Product and Tech teams.
  • Problem-solving complex client escalations and managing RFP processes in partnership with our Security, Trust, Legal and Compliance teams.

Commercial acumen:

  • Successfully negotiating and building complex commercial deal structures with the DfW team’s highest profile clients.
  • Coaching and guiding your team on their commercial deal-making and negotiations.
  • Developing and executing a sales strategy that maximises revenue growth and profitability.

Thought leadership:

  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, customer needs and competitive offerings.
  • Providing insights and making recommendations to drive continuous product improvement and innovation.

What we’re looking for

This is an excellent role for a confident commercial leader and people manager, preferably with both B2B and B2C experience, who thrives in fast-paced high growth businesses.

The ideal candidate would enjoy working closely with tech teams and has experience in both building and executing cross-functional strategic initiatives.

  • A driven and hard-working individual who values curiosity and is customer-obsessed
  • 8+ years experience in commercial roles managing account management and sales teams
  • Results-driven with a proven ability to exceed commercial targets
  • A strong people leader with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • A strategic thinker, data-driven and analytical with a demonstrated ability to build plans and execute successfully against them
  • An experienced negotiator who is able to structure large, complex deals
  • An excellent communicator who can build strong relationships both internally and externally at C-suite level and who has a proven ability to influence
  • A self-starter who challenges the status quo and is passionate and entrepreneurial
  • A business owner who is able to recognise when to roll your sleeves up and be in the trenches with the team and when to take a step back and be the one focused on the long-term goal.
