Director - Development Lending
Location: North London
A well-established, specialist development finance lender is seeking a highly capable and motivated Director to join its development finance team. This is a high-profile origination role, ideal for a strong performer with existing development finance experience from either a bank or non-bank lending background.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new development finance opportunities by building and managing relationships with developers, brokers/intermediaries, and property professionals
- Originate and structure development finance opportunities
- Manage the underwriting and credit process for new transactions
- Oversee drawdowns and redemptions, ensuring the loan portfolio performs consistently
- Build and/or manage a small team to support origination targets and portfolio management

Skills & Experience
- A strong, established track record of originating development finance opportunities and managing a loan portfolio
- Excellent communication skills for dealing with borrowers, brokers, and intermediaries
- Confident presenting credit papers to credit committee and senior management
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of development appraisals and structuring development finance facilities
- Understanding of the credit underwriting process, including legal process, valuations, and monitoring surveyor reports
