Director, Digital, Data & Technology
Altair is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Director to lead and grow our Digital, Data & Technology (DDT) business stream within our Transformation, Digital & People Practice. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for shaping our market offer, developing our team, growing our client portfolio and delivering complex advisory programmes for clients across social housing, local government and care sectors.
As a recognised expert in digital, data or technology transformation, you will work with Boards and Executive Teams to help organisations navigate technology-enabled change, improve services and achieve better outcomes for customers and communities.
Location: Home-based with travel to client sites and offices as required
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
Salary: Competitive
As a client-facing consultancy, flexibility in working patterns and location will occasionally be required to meet client and business needs, including travel and at times work outside of normal hours.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and develop Altair's Digital, Data & Technology business stream.
- Shape and articulate our service architecture and evolve our offer in response to changing client and market needs.
- Drive business development activity, building relationships, winning new work and growing existing client accounts.
- Lead major client engagements at Board and Executive level.
- Manage, coach and develop consultants to achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to the growth of Altair's wider Transformation, Digital & People Practice through collaboration and innovation.
- Build Altair's profile through thought leadership, publications, speaking engagements and sector events.

About you
We're looking for a strategic leader with:
- A proven track record of winning and delivering consultancy or advisory work – building a pipeline, converting opportunities and growing client accounts.
- Experience of accountability for financial performance – a budget, income target, margin, or a portfolio of project budgets.
- Significant senior-level experience in digital, data or technology leadership, with real depth in at least one of digital and technology strategy, systems selection and implementation, data, or technology-enabled change, and enough breadth across the rest to direct and assure work outside your won specialism.
- Experience of leading and developing professional teams.
- Credibility and confidence operating at Board and Executive level.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex client relationships.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A passion for using digital, data and technology to improve organisational performance and customer outcomes.
- Experience within social housing, local government or another regulated sector would be particularly valuable.
