About the Role

EY’s demand for digital health consulting expertise is growing rapidly. We seek a highly skilled and experienced Director to expand our Digital Health Practice and lead transformative projects for public and private health clients across the UK/Ireland.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Drive strategic client engagements, designing and delivering AI- and data-enabled digital health solutions.
  • Lead large-scale technology programmes, ensuring commercial success, risk management, and outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the UK’s digital healthcare evolution, particularly within the NHS and broader health system.

Responsibilities

Strategic & Client Leadership

  • Lead board-level client relationships with healthcare providers, ICSs, and national organisations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisory on digital health transformations, overseeing AI, data, and multi-year projects.
  • Deliver commercial excellence, risk mitigation, and high-impact outcomes across complex tech programmes.

Practice Leadership & Sector Growth

  • Define market strategy and thought leadership for EY’s Digital Health practice.
  • Build ecosystem partnerships with technology vendors to strengthen market positioning.
  • Identify and execute business development initiatives to drive practice growth.

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Own a high-performing pipeline, converting opportunities into multi-year client revenues.
  • Lead major proposals/bids, acting as Bid Lead for high-value pursuits.

People Leadership & Culture

  • Mentor junior colleagues, fostering digital healthcare expertise and capability development.
  • Champion Diversity, Inclusion, Psychological Safety, and Wellbeing across teams.

Requirements

Proven Experience

  • Proven leadership of large-scale, multi-year digital health programmes (healthcare, public sector, or multinational).
  • Technical consulting/SI experience with Enterprise IT strategy and execution, specialising in 2+ IT disciplines:
    • Transformation delivery
    • IT Strategy & Enablement
    • IT Service Management
    • Service Architecture
    • Cloud & Digital Strategies
  • Deep NHS/AICT transformation knowledge with policy, systems, and operational challenges.
  • UK Government Digital Service (GDS) and NHS Digital framework alignment (e.g., NHS Service Standards, DTAC, Clinical Safety).

  • Electronic health record & healthcare standards expertise.
  • Data management, integration, and governance – leading engagements on scalability and refinement efforts.
  • Business case development (SOC, OBC, FBC) for healthcare/public sector, aligned with Green Paper guidance.
  • Cloud platforms & emerging digital technologies knowledge, with a growth mindset for IT operations.
