Join a leading global investment bank as a Director within their EMEA Transaction Banking & Payments Technology function, based in London on a permanent basis.
This is a senior technology leadership opportunity to shape Transaction Banking technology across EMEA, with responsibility spanning Payments, Trade Finance and Core Banking.
You will act as a trusted technology partner to senior business leaders, shaping strategy, driving transformation and ensuring resilient, high-quality technology delivery. The role combines deep technical expertise with executive stakeholder management, team leadership and the opportunity to lead significant change across a complex international organisation.
We are looking for an energetic, credible technology leader who can influence and challenge senior stakeholders, build high performing teams and turn technology strategy into tangible results.
The Role
You will:
- Act as the trusted technology partner to senior Transaction Banking leadership across EMEA and represent regional interests in global forums.
- Shape and execute technology strategy across payments, payment channels, trade finance and core banking.
- Lead payments technology and connectivity, including SWIFT, host-to-host and regulatory-driven change such as SEPA and Instant Payments.
- Provide strategic and technical oversight of T24/Temenos or comparable core banking platforms, alongside Trade Finance platforms such as Trade360/T360 or equivalent.
- Lead greenfield payments initiatives, helping shape architecture and technology solutions from the ground up.
- Balance innovation and digital transformation, including the appropriate application of AI, with resilience, operational stability and regulatory requirements.
- Own platform roadmaps, upgrades, vendor relationships, technical risk and continuous service improvement.
- Build and reshape high-performing onshore and offshore teams, bringing fresh thinking, energy and strong leadership capability.
- Establish trusted relationships with senior stakeholders while providing constructive challenge and independent technology advice.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced technology leader with:
- Deep expertise in payments technology and transaction banking across EMEA, including payment channels, connectivity and regulatory change.
- Strong understanding of Trade Finance and relevant technology platforms.
- Proven expertise with T24/Temenos or a comparable core banking platform.
- Experience with SWIFT, host-to-host connectivity and corporate/payment channels.
- A track record of leading technology strategy, transformation and service delivery in complex, regulated environments.
- The gravitas and communication skills to influence and challenge senior business leaders.
- Experience leading and developing geographically distributed teams, with the ability to reshape organisations and build future capability.
- Strong commercial and strategic judgement, combined with enough technical depth to engage credibly with architects and engineering teams.
- An understanding of AI and digital transformation and how these can be applied within financial services.
