Over the years Miller has also built one of the largest and most skilled Energy broking teams in the UK. Whatever field our client is in, we can arrange solutions to help them protest all aspects of their business operations.
Miller’s Construction team are continuing to grow and continue to invest and focus their specialist construction offering and are looking to recruit individuals who wish to progress their career in the construction insurance sector with their passion for specialism and client focus.
Miller are looking to recruit people looking to have greater control of the direction in their career with the drive to set standards with self-motivation as well as a large, experienced team to support technical development. Our focus at this time is for individuals with some experience around working with contractors; whether UK or elsewhere.

What you’ll do
- Lead and develop Account Directors and Account Executives, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, performance management and development support to ensure high-quality client service, technical excellence and compliance.
- Own key client relationships, acting as the principal service contact and aligning advice, solutions and ongoing service with each client’s business, risk management needs and strategic objectives.
- Provide leadership across the Construction team, collaborating with relevant internal teams and the wider Miller business to deliver coordinated client outcomes, identify opportunities and achieve shared objectives.
- Drive profitable portfolio growth, identifying new and additional opportunities within existing relationships, supporting cross-selling across Miller, and developing a prospect pipeline through research, targeted engagement and new-business presentations.
- Provide technical, industry and subject-matter expertise, advising clients and determining appropriate solutions, programme structures, pricing and placement strategies that meet their needs and deliver profitable business.
- Contribute to portfolio budget setting and take accountability for delivery against agreed targets.
- Oversee renewals and endorsements on key accounts, ensuring all relevant information is gathered, placement activity progresses effectively and deadlines are met through robust diary and pending systems.
- Build and maintain strong client and market relationships, broking risks directly or working with placing brokers to secure market agreement.
- Lead the preparation and review of client and market materials, including presentations for prospective and existing clients, policies and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness and quality through appropriate quality-control checks.
- Maintain accurate, concise and complete placing files within Miller’s corporate document-management system.
- Work with relevant colleagues to ensure compliant contract processing, in accordance with FCA requirements and contract-certainty standards.
- Take overall responsibility for compliance procedures across the individual client portfolio.
- Adhere fully to Miller’s policies, procedures, training materials, systems and controls, including those designed to address applicable compliance, legal and financial-crime legislation and regulation.
- Comply with all external rules and individual requirements relevant to the role, including Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
- Champion Miller’s brand and values, enhancing its reputation across the market.
