Your role:

At Elanco, we are committed to improving animal health while fostering a safe, sustainable and high-performing workplace. We are looking for an experienced Director Health, Safety, Environment & Facilities to join our Site Leadership Team in Speke and lead the site's Health, Safety, Environmental and Facilities strategy.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for driving delivery of both the site strategy and also a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting operational excellence and providing strategic direction across HSE and Facilities.

Your responsibilities:

  • Setting and delivering the site’s 5-year strategy as part of the leadership team
  • Providing strategic leadership for Health, Safety, Environmental and Facilities operations across the Speke site.
  • Leading and continuously improving the site’s HSE Management System and Process Safety Management framework.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK HSE, environmental and COMAH regulations as well as internal corporate standards.
  • Acting as the site’s lead for COMAH and Major Accident Hazard management.
  • Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the site’s safety culture.
  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting HSE performance metrics and regulatory compliance.
  • Leading site HSE committees, contractor safety forums and emergency response activities.
  • Providing leadership and development for the HSE team while coaching leaders across the site.
  • Managing the outsourced Facilities Management service to ensure safe, efficient and compliant site operations.
  • Partnering with Global HSE on strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting regulatory inspections, internal audits and external agency interactions.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Advanced qualifications in Health, Safety & Environment (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 HSE qualification). or significant leadership experience within Health, Safety and Environmental management in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and environmental regulations.
  • Experience working within COMAH-regulated facilities and Process Safety Management.
  • Experience leading outsourced services (Facilities Management)
  • Demonstrated success leading HSE teams and building a proactive safety culture.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and people development capabilities.
