The Director of Finance Operations will lead Brio’s loan servicing and onboarding team, directing the day-to-day operations for a diverse and expanding portfolio of complex debt investments secured by commercial real estate and leveraged through a variety of financing structures. This client-facing role requires strong leadership, exceptional attention to detail, and a constant sense of urgency. The Director is expected to manage, develop, and hold accountable the team responsible for new asset and liability onboarding, facilitation of draw funding, remittance waterfall review, and preparation of monthly portfolio analytics - providing quality control and final sign-off across these functions.
What you will do:
- Ensure the team’s review of asset collection information from servicers is accurate and aligned with system accrual; direct timely follow-up on missing payments and sound judgment on the reasonableness of any accrual breaks.
- Direct the comparison of credit facility lending invoices to the system of record, ensuring discrepancies are resolved prior to release of payment.
- Provide final review and approval of monthly and quarterly servicer remittance information booked into the system by the team.
- Oversee the review of payoff information prior to repayments, ensuring timely repayment to financing counterparties, receipt of net remittance, and accurate recording of payoff activity within the system.
- Oversee wire memos for borrower draws, counterparty expenses, and intercompany funds movement, serving as the senior escalation point for exceptions.
- Own the daily reconciliation of cash activity to the activity recorded in the system, ensuring discrepancies are caught and resolved.
- Lead new loan pre-close meetings with the Blackstone team, direct the review of legal documentation, and ensure full onboarding of new asset and liability positions into the system.
- Direct the review of complex loan modification and maturity extension documentation, ensuring new terms are accurately recorded in the system.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for servicers, Blackstone asset managers, and financing counterparties, resolving escalated and complex issues.
- Manage the coordination and quality of work performed by the BREDS offshore operations team and its integration into Brio workflows.
- Ensure timely facilitation of KYC requests from servicers and financing counterparties.
- Review, finalise, and present monthly and quarterly investment portfolio analytics to senior management.
- Lead bi-weekly team calls and represent the team at weekly investment vehicle meetings with the broader Blackstone team.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of associates, setting priorities, allocating workload, and driving process improvement across the function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
