Director | Transaction Services / Financial Due Diligence / Financial Modelling

Full-time

Fully Remote | UK

£100,000+, plus generous bonus, pension and additional benefits

I’m working with a specialist, independent advisory business that’s looking to appoint a Director to take ownership of transaction delivery and play a key role in the continued development of the firm.

This is a genuinely hands-on senior position, sitting directly underneath the Founder and taking responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of multiple transaction-led assignments.

The role would suit someone coming from a Transaction Services / Financial Due Diligence environment who enjoys being close to the detail, leading junior teams and taking real ownership of engagements, but who’s looking for more autonomy and less of the hierarchy that comes with a larger advisory platform.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading 1 to 3 live engagements at any one time
  • Taking ownership of buy-side and sell-side FDD assignments
  • Managing and directing a small team of analysts
  • Reviewing financial information, identifying gaps and challenging inconsistencies
  • Managing client information requests and keeping projects moving at pace
  • Reviewing and interrogating financial models and underlying analysis
  • Ensuring work is progressing in the right direction and to the required quality
  • Providing clear, concise updates to the Founder
  • Taking responsibility for engagement delivery, timelines and budgets
  • Acting as the senior point of contact across day-to-day client delivery

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The firm is particularly interested in speaking with people who have:

  • A strong background in Transaction Services / Financial Due Diligence
  • Experience at Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director level
  • ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow analysis
  • Good financial modelling capability, with the confidence to interrogate models and challenge junior team members
  • Experience managing analysts or junior deal teams
  • Strong client-facing skills
  • Experience working on fast-moving M&A transactions
  • The judgement to work autonomously without relying on significant internal infrastructure

Big 4 experience would be particularly relevant, although candidates from other established transaction advisory firms will also be considered.

This won’t suit someone looking for a heavily layered environment or a role where work can simply be delegated and reviewed at the end.

It will suit someone who enjoys being close to live deals, likes taking ownership, can create structure around junior teams and wants the opportunity to become a genuinely important part of a smaller, entrepreneurial business.

The opportunity offers:

  • Fully remote working anywhere in the UK
  • Flexible working hours by agreement
  • 8% employer pension contribution
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Discretionary bonus linked to team utilisation
  • Private medical and dental insurance following probation
  • Option to purchase up to 10 additional days’ annual leave through salary sacrifice
  • Ability to carry forward up to 5 days’ annual leave
  • Significant autonomy and direct exposure to the Founder
  • The opportunity to become the senior delivery lead within a growing specialist consultancy
