About the Role

We are looking for a Director to join Flint’s expanding financial services team. At a time of significant political and policy change, successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to support the continuing development of Flint’s business in this area and work on an exciting array of complex policy and regulatory issues for our clients.

This will involve working closely with senior team members across Flint to advise clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy with a specific focus on UK financial services. Flint’s clients want to understand, in detail, how they can build a long-term strategy to thrive in an evolving policy environment. Our clients include asset managers, banks, financial market infrastructure (FMI) companies, payments firms, retail investment platforms, fintechs and other financial institutions as well as alternatives, portfolio companies and corporates.

The financial services team works across Flint’s London and our international offices in Brussels, Paris and Hong-Kong/Singapore with our advice often covering multiple jurisdictions. In this London-based role, you will focus both on our growing portfolio of UK clients and drive business development efforts with our European and APAC offices.

As part of the Flint team, you will share insights about key policy challenges, to enable your clients to deliver the best possible outcomes. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality outputs for our clients including monitoring, research, analysis and reports. You will also lead on business development, identifying and engaging with potential clients.

More broadly, you will contribute directly to the growth of Flint’s financial services practice. This will include helping to develop our market profile, supporting business development activities, contributing to thought leadership, and identifying emerging policy and regulatory themes that matter to clients. As our financial services offering continues to expand across jurisdictions and sectors, you will have the opportunity to help shape its development and growth.

What We Are Looking For - Skills & Experience

We are seeking someone with deep expertise in financial services policy and/or regulation to lead client accounts and contribute to the growth of our business. This role will be pivotal in delivering strategic advice and technical policy or regulatory support to our wide range of financial services clients.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
