Director – Financial Services PR

About the company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, independent strategic communications consultancy at an important stage in its development. Currently a headcount of around 30 people, the business is continuing to grow steadily, with recruitment planned across all levels over the next year and some exciting new Partner hires to be announced soon.

The consultancy works predominantly with retained clients across a broad range of sectors and communications challenges. Financial services and technology are key growth priorities, alongside retail, leisure and infrastructure.

The culture is entrepreneurial and meritocratic, offering ambitious people the chance to help build the business rather than joining a highly layered organisation. With a varied client portfolio, genuine progression opportunities and significant scope for growth, this is an excellent time to join.

About the Director role

Due to continued growth, the consultancy is looking to hire a Director with a specialism in financial services. The Director will lead client accounts independently, providing senior strategic counsel and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
