Director – FP&A Advisory | Office of the CFO
Location: London
Level: Director
Practice: Transaction Advisory Services / Office of the CFO
MVA International is supporting a leading global financial advisory firm with the appointment of a Director – FP&A Advisory within its growing Office of the CFO / Transaction Advisory Services practice.
This is a senior advisory role focused on helping private equity sponsors and PE-backed portfolio companies build, improve and mature their FP&A capabilities.
We are particularly interested in candidates who offer a combination of top-tier advisory experience and genuine in-house FP&A experience — someone who understands the advisory environment but has also sat within a business and experienced the challenges faced by a CFO and finance function first-hand.
The Role
You will work directly with CFOs, finance leadership teams, private equity sponsors and portfolio companies, helping businesses strengthen their FP&A capabilities and improve the quality of financial information used to make strategic decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is not primarily a valuation or transaction-modelling position. We are looking for someone whose modelling experience sits within a broader FP&A, business planning and CFO advisory skill set.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join a growing advisory platform and play an important role in the development of its Office of the CFO / FP&A offering.
The successful individual will have the opportunity to work alongside senior leadership, develop relationships across the private equity market and help build a differentiated FP&A advisory capability.
For someone who has built their career across both advisory and in-house FP&A, this provides the opportunity to bring those two perspectives together and help CFOs and PE-backed businesses improve the way they plan, forecast and manage performance.
