I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Translate common pain points and unmet needs into a prioritised platform roadmap, using co-design and pilots to validate value before scaling

  • Represent the Franchise business as the accountable owner of platform initiatives working with and mobilizing cross-functional teams
  • Establish disciplined governance and execution best practice, maintaining visibility of progress, dependencies, investment requirements, risks, critical decisions, and benefits delivery
  • Assign clear product and service owners, delivery milestones, acceptance criteria, resource plans, and accountabilities across each initiative

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree (MBA or similar) is advantageous but not required.
  • Extensive experience in franchise development, growth, or expansion, ideally within multi‑location, service‑based, or mobility‑focused industries.
  • A proven track record of driving franchise network growth, including market planning, territory development, and successful franchise recruitment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate business cases, assess franchisee financials, and build compelling growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing high‑value relationships with prospective and existing franchise partners, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present to senior leaders, negotiate agreements, and represent the brand externally.
  • A data‑driven mindset with the ability to interpret market insights, performance metrics, and competitive intelligence to inform decision‑making.
  • A proactive, growth‑oriented mindset with the ability to identify new opportunities, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous improvement.
