Director, FSA Project Management

As a Director, Feasibility and Site Activation (FSA) Project Management at ICON, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to project management teams responsible for Feasibility and Site Activation (FSA) delivery.

What You Will Do

You will direct site start-up and activation activities, ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading FSA project management teams to deliver feasibility and site activation activities on time, within scope, and to quality and compliance standards.
  • Overseeing portfolio and program-level planning, risk management, and mitigation strategies to support successful study start-up.
  • Driving implementation of standardised project management methodologies, tools, and best practices across FSA projects.
  • Partnering with business development, clinical operations, and functional leaders to support bid defenses, proposals, and customer engagements.
  • Monitoring operational performance metrics, identifying trends, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across FSA project delivery.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and development to FSA Project Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Your Profile

You will bring significant site start-up and activation experience, with a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering results.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, healthcare, business, or a related field; advanced degree or project management certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in clinical research with a strong focus on feasibility, site activation, and project or program management.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing project teams and managing complex, global portfolios in a CRO, pharma, or related environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking, organisational, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into effective operational plans.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with confidence in customer-facing and senior leadership interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process optimisation, manage change, and deliver results in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation.
  • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 20%)
