About The Role

As a Director, you will advise senior leaders across UK & Ireland organizations on technology strategy, digital transformation, operating models, and execution assurance. You will lead complex engagements, build trusted executive relationships, and play a key role in growing Gartner’s Consulting business through business development, account expansion, and commercial leadership.

This is a highly visible role for an experienced consultant who combines strong strategy fundamentals, technology insight, industry expertise, commercial acumen, and client advisory credibility.

What You Will Do

Senior Client Advisory

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives across Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Retail, Utilities, Energy and Life Sciences organizations.
  • Build long-term, value-driven relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives.
  • Shape and deliver technology and digital strategies aligned to organizational goals such as growth, efficiency, resilience, customer experience, and innovation.
  • Provide technology foresight and market intelligence, grounded in Gartner’s global research, benchmarks, and best practices.
  • Lead the delivery of complex consulting engagements, including:
    • Enterprise IT and digital strategies and roadmaps
    • Digital, data, and technology operating models
    • Cloud and applications modernization
    • Enterprise architecture, governance, and decision frameworks
    • Digital and business transformation
    • Programme assurance and value realization
  • Support clients in achieving measurable outcomes, including value realization, cost optimization, and execution confidence.

Programme Assurance & Governance

  • Advise on the design and improvement of governance models, organizational structures, and sourcing strategies across diverse operating environments.
  • Provide independent challenge and assurance at key programme and investment decision points.
  • Support major transformation initiatives through benefits tracking, delivery assurance, and risk management.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and expand executive relationships across strategic Gartner accounts.
  • Identify, shape, and convert consulting opportunities within existing and prospective client organizations.
  • Lead business development activities, including opportunity qualification, proposal development, and executive presentations.
  • Partner with Managing Partners to achieve consulting revenue growth and expand Gartner’s presence across the UK&I market.
  • Drive account growth through cross-selling and positioning Gartner’s research, advisory, and consulting capabilities.

  • Coach, mentor, and support consultants within the UK & Ireland consulting team.

What You Bring

You may currently be a Principal, Director, Associate Partner, Senior Manager, Engagement Manager or equivalent within a consulting firm, advisory environment, or industry transformation function.

Consulting & Strategy Capability

  • Strong grounding in management consulting and technology strategy and transformation.
  • Experience leading client engagements end to end, from problem definition through delivery.
  • Confidence operating with senior executive stakeholders in complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop trusted advisor relationships with C-level executives.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with experience contributing to business development, revenue growth, account expansion, and proposal pursuits.
  • Experience supporting clients in one or more of the following sectors: Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Retail, Utilities, Energy and/or Life Sciences

Personal Attributes

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High standards of integrity, discretion, and professional judgement.
