Ready to lead autonomous operations on a global scale?
At SYOS Aerospace, we’re building the next generation of uncrewed systems across air, land and sea - and we’re looking for a senior operational leader to make sure those systems are ready to perform when it matters.
As Director - Global Autonomous Operations, you’ll take ownership of the integrated operational picture across our global operations, bringing together Flight Operations and Maritime Operations across the UK, New Zealand and other international locations. This isn’t simply a role about running operations. It’s about connecting people, platforms, technology, testing, customers and operational readiness into one high-performing global system.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You’ll lead through the Heads of Maritime Operations and Flight Operations, ensuring SYOS has the right:
- People and specialist skills
- Platforms and equipment
- Training and competencies
- Permissions and operational clearances
- Resources and logistics
- Plans, rehearsals and readiness
You’ll own the integrated global operations schedule, balancing competing demands across product testing and evaluation, certification, customer demonstrations, training, trials and operational deployments. You’ll also work closely with Product, Engineering and Commercial teams to turn future opportunities into clear, executable operational plans. Most importantly, you’ll make sure that when a critical trial, customer demonstration or deployment arrives, SYOS is ready.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
