Role Overview
The Director, Global Reputation & Messaging is a senior leader responsible for shaping, protecting, and elevating the organization's standing across worldwide markets. Based in London, one of the most influential financial centers, this role drives integrated narrative strategy across regions, media, and stakeholders. Phifer and Company London has been retained.
You will partner closely with senior executives to craft high‑impact storytelling around financial results, market strategy, regulatory activity, and corporate purpose. This role requires a decisive strategist who excels in fast‑moving, highly regulated environments and knows how to influence global audiences with clarity and authority.
Key Responsibilities
Global Narrative Strategy
- Build and execute a cohesive worldwide narrative aligned with business priorities, financial results, and long‑term growth.
- Ensure consistent messaging across regions, business units, and senior leaders.
- Translate complex financial concepts into clear, compelling stories for global audiences.

Executive Advisory & Thought Leadership
- Guide and support C‑suite leaders on messaging, media activity, speeches, and external visibility.
- Position senior leaders as influential voices in financial services, capital markets, and emerging industry trends.
- Lead high‑impact thought leadership initiatives across global platforms.
Media Engagement & Reputation Protection
- Cultivate strong relationships with top‑tier financial, business, and trade outlets.
- Lead proactive and reactive activity around market events, regulatory changes, and issues management.
- Oversee press releases, statements, and external announcements with precision and compliance.
Financial Messaging
- Partner with Investor Relations on earnings storytelling, annual reports, and disclosures.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment across all financial messaging.
- Monitor market sentiment and advise leadership on narrative implications.

- Strengthen the organization's standing across global markets, ensuring alignment with brand values, ESG commitments, and corporate strategy.
- Lead integrated initiatives that reinforce the company’s leadership in financial services.
Team Leadership & Cross‑Functional Partnership
- Lead and mentor a high‑performing global team across regions.
- Partner with Marketing, IR, Legal, Compliance, and regional leaders to ensure coordinated messaging.
- Oversee agency partners, media training, and governance.
Qualifications
- 12–15+ years of experience in corporate reputation, narrative strategy, or public affairs.
- Deep experience in financial services, banking, capital markets, or fintech.
- Proven success leading global narrative strategy in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, regulatory environments, and investor‑facing messaging.
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, and executive advisory skills.
- Established relationships across financial and business outlets.
- Experience leading global teams and agency partners.
