About The Role
The Director, Global Compensation will lead the firm's global compensation function and serve as the senior compensation adviser to Human Resources, Finance, and business leadership. Reporting to the Total Rewards Leader, this individual will oversee the design, management, and evolution of compensation programs and practices, ensuring they are market-informed, thoughtfully governed, and aligned with the firm's compensation philosophy, business priorities and culture.
The Director will lead the global compensation team and oversee compensation structures, incentive programs, market benchmarking, annual compensation processes, and analytics. This role requires deep compensation expertise, strong judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate strategically while remaining close to the work.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, ongoing evaluation, and execution of the firm's global compensation programs and practices in partnership with the Total Rewards Leader and key stakeholders.
- Oversee base pay, bonus programs, compensation structures, market benchmarking, and related governance, ensuring programs remain competitive, consistent, and aligned with business needs.
- Serve as the firm's senior compensation subject matter expert, advising senior leaders, HR, Finance, and managers on complex compensation decisions, including hiring, promotions, retention, and organizational changes.
- Lead the annual compensation review, ensuring strong governance, clear stakeholder engagement, and accurate execution.
- Advance compensation analytics and market insights to inform decision-making, internal equity, market positioning, workforce costs, and program effectiveness.
- Provide effective tools and dashboards to our Compensation Committees to enhance their oversight of compensation outcomes
- Prepare clear compensation recommendations and decision materials for senior leadership and relevant committees.
- Lead and develop the global compensation team, setting priorities, building capability, and fostering collaboration, accountability, and high-quality client service.
- Participate in industry network forums to keep abreast of trends. Help to ensure that the firm’s policies are current with regard to market trends, practices and costs.

Qualifications
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- Significant compensation experience within a complex global organization, with deep expertise in compensation design, market benchmarking, pay structures, and annual compensation processes.
- Experience in investment management, financial services, a private partnership, or a similarly complex professional environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to advise and influence senior leaders and navigate complex, sensitive compensation matters with credibility and discretion.
- Proven people leadership experience with the ability to set direction, develop talent, and remain engaged in the work.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Strong communication, project leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative and consultative approach across functions and geographies.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and operate effectively through change and ambiguity.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree or relevant professional qualification is a plus.

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
EUR 85,000-175,000
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
