We are looking for a Director, Global Tax to join us in London, UK

About the Role

Join Liberty Global as Director, Global Tax and play a pivotal role in shaping the tax strategy of a dynamic international business. Reporting to the VP, Global Tax, you will provide strategic leadership across corporate and indirect tax matters, ensuring commercially focused, technically robust and compliant outcomes that support the Group’s long-term growth and value creation.

This is a highly influential leadership position with exposure to senior stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Legal and Corporate Development. You will lead a talented team of tax professionals, oversee complex international tax matters, support major transactions and restructurings, drive best-in-class governance and compliance, and help develop one of the industry's most respected tax functions.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead Liberty Global’s tax strategy across international corporate and indirect tax matters, including Pillar Two, BEPS and cross-border tax considerations.
  • Oversee group tax governance, compliance and reporting activities, including review and approval of tax filings, provisions and returns.
  • Lead the tax workstream for complex cross-border M&A transactions, restructurings, joint ventures and integration projects.
  • Develop tax-efficient structures and funding frameworks that support strategic investments, financing arrangements and business objectives. Manage transfer pricing strategy, documentation, audits and dispute resolution activities across the Group.
  • Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing tax team while building capability and managing external adviser relationships.

We tend to look for people with:

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Significant corporate and indirect tax experience gained within a large multinational organisation or advisory environment.
  • Deep knowledge of international corporate taxation, VAT and cross-border tax matters.
  • Proven experience leading transactions, restructurings, financing arrangements and tax risk management activities.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business recommendations.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and project management skills.

Desirable skills and abilities:

  • Experience leading Pillar Two implementation, reporting and governance programmes.
  • Exposure to complex international tax planning and legal entity restructuring projects.
  • Strong M&A tax expertise across acquisitions, carve-outs and joint venture formations.
  • Experience managing transfer pricing strategy across multinational operations.
  • Experience building and developing high-performing global teams.
