Role: Director, Group AI, Consumer Group
Base Location: Osterley
Band: 8
Reporting to: MD, Group AI
Department Overview
The Group AI team owns Sky’s enterprise-wide AI ambition, strategy and roadmap to deliver meaningful business value. The team works closely with senior stakeholders across Sky to embed AI into the fabric of how the business operates, manages key external AI partnerships and ensures alignment with Comcast/NBCU.
The Role
The Group AI Director, Consumer Group will partner with senior leaders across Sky’s Consumer Group to shape and define their AI strategy, identifying the highest-value AI opportunities across our go to market, commercial, customer experience, customer service and operations priorities. The role will turn business ambition into practical AI roadmaps, mobilise cross-functional teams and ensures AI is adopted responsibly, effectively and at pace to improve our customer experience, colleague productivity and business performance.
What You’ll Do
Own the AI partnership with Consumer Group
- Work with their leadership team to translate strategic priorities into a clear portfolio of AI opportunities, delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
Consumer Group AI Strategy & Portfolio
- Partner with Consumer Group leadership to define where AI can create the greatest value across go to market, commercial, customer experience and operations.
- Build and maintain a prioritised AI roadmap for Consumer Group, balancing quick wins with larger strategic opportunities and ensuring clear ownership, sequencing and value cases.
- Shape high-impact AI use cases from idea to pilot to delivery, working with business, data, product, technology, legal and risk teams to move from exploration to scaled adoption.
- Ensure Consumer Group AI activity is aligned to the Group AI strategy, common platforms, responsible AI principles and Comcast/NBCU opportunities where relevant.
- Bring external perspective, partner insight and emerging AI capability into Consumer Group to identify new opportunities and keep Sky focused on what will make the biggest difference.
Adoption & Value Realisation
- Mobilise cross-functional teams to deliver priority AI initiatives, removing blockers and creating the conditions for pace, quality and responsible delivery.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled ways of working across Consumer Group, helping teams move from pilots and experimentation to repeatable, embedded business change.
- Work closely with the business and finance to define and track the value of AI initiatives, using data, feedback and operational insight to demonstrate impact and continuously improve delivery.
- Partner with teams across Group AI, Data, Technology and Product to ensure Consumer Group AI use cases have the right foundations, tooling, governance and delivery support.

Leadership & Influence
- Act as a trusted strategic partner to senior Consumer Group leaders, combining commercial understanding, AI expertise and practical delivery judgement.
- Influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions, aligning priorities, investment choices and delivery trade-offs around the highest-value opportunities.
- Build and lead a high-performing team that thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and brings clarity, momentum and accountability to complex work.
Minimum Requirements
- Significant experience partnering with executive-level business leaders to shape and deliver strategic transformation, digital, data or AI-enabled change in a complex commercial environment.
- A strong understanding of the evolving AI landscape in go to market, commercial, customer experience, customer service and operations priorities, with a passion for researching emerging technologies, competitor activity and market developments.
- Strong commercial judgement and understanding of consumer-facing businesses, with the ability to identify where AI can improve customer outcomes, growth, efficiency and colleague productivity.
- Proven experience designing and leading structured experimentation, pilots or innovation programmes.
- Proven ability to translate complex or technical topics into clear business narratives, executive-level recommendations, delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional programmes with the structure, clarity and pace needed to align multiple stakeholders, manage trade-offs and deliver impact.
- Experience using data, insight and feedback to prioritise opportunities, measure adoption and demonstrate progress against business outcomes.
