Department Overview:
The Group AI team owns Sky’s enterprise-wide AI ambition, strategy, and roadmap to deliver meaningful business value. The team works closely with senior stakeholders to embed AI into the fabric of how Sky operates, manages key external AI partnerships, and ensures alignment with Comcast/NBCU.
The Role:
The Director Group AI, Partnerships & Engagement leads Sky’s approach to driving responsible AI adoption and building confidence in AI across the business. Working closely with our People and Corporate Affairs teams, the role provides AI subject matter expertise that supports internal engagement and informs Sky's external communications, helping position Sky as a leader in the practical and responsible application of AI. The role also leads Sky's strategic relationships across the AI ecosystem to maximise business value and accelerate adoption.
What you’ll do:
Own the integrated AI engagement strategy across internal adoption, leadership engagement, and AI capability-building, providing subject matter expertise to inform external communications and engagement led by Corporate Affairs.
Internal Engagement & Networks
- Champion a culture where colleagues are confident, curious, and equipped to use AI in their everyday work.
- Lead engagement initiatives that accelerate AI adoption at all levels across Sky including activities like hackathons, AI awards, reverse mentoring, etc.
- Equip senior leaders with AI use cases, practical examples, and supporting materials that enable them to role-model AI adoption across their teams.
- Strengthen our AI Advocates network to play a key role in educating colleagues on the responsible use of AI, new tools and capabilities, sharing best practices, and providing feedback to shape future engagement.
- Closely partner with the Learning & Development team on the Better with AI programme, advising as subject-matter expert on AI content and enablement.
- Work closely with the Internal Comms team to create compelling AI content for internal events for all staff and leadership.
- Define and track engagement metrics, using colleague feedback, adoption data, and external insight to continually improve activity and impact.
External AI Expertise & Corporate Affairs Partnership
- Act as the AI subject matter expert for the Corporate Affairs team, providing technical expertise and strategic insight to inform Sky's external communications, policy positions, and executive engagement on AI across our entertainment, sports, news, and technology businesses.
- Provide AI expertise, evidence, customer examples, and use cases to support Corporate Affairs in developing executive messaging, thought leadership, and external communications on AI.
- Provide AI subject matter expertise to support Corporate Affairs' engagement with government, regulators, and policymakers on AI-related issues.
- Advise Corporate Affairs on relevant AI industry events, speaking opportunities, and external forums where Sky's AI expertise can support broader corporate objectives.
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition and Employer Brand teams to position Sky as a destination for people who want to apply AI to real customer, content, and business challenges.

AI Ecosystem
- Build and manage Sky’s relationships across the AI ecosystem including hyperscalers, model providers, investors, start-ups, scale-ups, and thought leaders to maximise strategic value for Sky.
- Shape Sky’s approach to existing and potential partners, ensuring engagement is purposeful, joined up, and aligned to our AI priorities.
- Bring together Sky’s markets and the wider Comcast/NBCU group to align on priority AI opportunities, share learning, and turn collaboration into measurable impact.
Leadership & Influence
- Collaborate with senior leaders across Sky and external partners.
- Build and lead a high-performing team that thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Significant experience leading AI engagement, AI adoption programmes, technology-enabled organisational change, or enterprise-wide AI-related stakeholder engagement within a complex organisation. Experience working closely with Corporate Affairs, Communications, or Public Affairs teams would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of the evolving AI landscape, including major technology players, model providers, start-ups, scale-ups, investors, and emerging industry trends.
- Proven ability to translate complex AI concepts into clear, accessible content and supporting materials for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders.
- Proven ability to build senior relationships and orchestrate collaboration across internal teams, external partners, and multiple markets to turn insight into measurable impact.
- Experience using data, insight, and feedback to measure engagement impact, improve activity, and demonstrate progress against outcomes.
