Join a Market-Leading Rural Property and Environmental Business
H&H Land & Estates is seeking an experienced, commercially focused and growth-driven Head of Sales to lead and shape the future of our business.
This is a unique opportunity to join the H&H Group in a strategic leadership role, working alongside the senior leadership team to drive growth, increase market share and strengthen our position as the market leader across our core service areas.
This is not a personal fee earning role. It is a rural, commercial leadership role, responsible for driving performance through existing experienced Directors, Associate Directors and technical professionals.
You will lead teams across Carlisle, Durham and Staveley, and be responsible for developing and delivering the commercial strategy across three key business streams:
- Land Agency – Rural Property Valuations, Estate and Asset Strategy, Renewables & Infrastructure, and Development.
- Environment & Natural Capital – Environmental Schemes & Grants and the development of Natural Capital markets.
- Rural Property Sales, Lettings & Management – Rural property, farms, land, auctions and associated management services
The Opportunity
As Director and Head of Sales you will lead the performance of H&H Land & Estates across all three business streams. This is a strategic, non-fee earning leadership role, focused on driving growth through the team of experienced Directors, Associate Directors and senior professionals.
Your role will be to create clear commercial plans, build pipelines, strengthen client relationships, improve accountability and develop a proactive sales outcome across the business.
You will work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and in partnership with operations to ensure commercial priorities are clear and the business has the right support to deliver excellent client outcomes.

- Develop, own and execute the sales and commercial strategy across all three business streams, aligned with the wider H&H Group strategy.
- Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, market share and overall commercial performance.
- Work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and Finance team to develop budgets, forecasts and commercial plans.
- Establish clear sales objectives, KPIs and growth targets by geography, business stream and market sector.
- Act as a visible ambassador for the business, strengthening relationships, building networks and creating new commercial opportunities.
- Lead, motivate and develop experienced Directors, Associate Directors and senior professionals building stronger commercial discipline, pipeline ownership and accountability across all business streams.
- Collaborate with Marketing to maximise lead generation, market visibility and brand awareness.
- Provide commercial direction and accountability across the business, ensuring activity is aligned to strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the long-term growth and development of H&H Land & Estates through active participation within the senior leadership team.
About You
We are looking for a confident and credible leader who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.
You will:
- Be commercially focused, disciplined and performance-driven.
- Have demonstrable experience developing and delivering strategic and business growth plans.
- Possess a strong understanding of financial performance indicators and commercial decision-making.
- Be capable of leading experienced, technically skilled professionals and providing clear commercial direction.
- Be an effective coach, mentor and developer of people.
- Be a confident communicator with credibility at leadership, client and team level.
- Have the ability to translate strategy into clear actions, targets and performance routines.
- Be comfortable challenging constructively and holding senior colleagues accountable for activity and results.
- Work collaboratively and embrace our One H&H approach.
- Build strong working relationships across Operations, Finance, Marketing, People and wider Group functions, in particular with Heads of Operations ensuring commercial priorities are defined and communicated.
- Be values-led, professional and committed to protecting and enhancing the reputation of H&H.
