About the Role

You are a vital part of ADF International’s Senior Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources at ADF, this is a strategic and hands-on leadership role focused on designing and stewarding people strategies, policies, and programs that align with ADF International’s global mission.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Partner with the VP of Human Resources to develop and execute a shared services people strategy aligned with ADF International’s mission, values, and long-term goals.
  • drive organizational design and workforce planning for global offices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to shape HR priorities that drive impact.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead and develop a small HR team (HR Manager & HR Coordinator), fostering collaboration, excellence, and high performance.
  • Set clear objectives and performance expectations for direct reports through:
    • Regular one-to-ones
    • Formal performance reviews
  • Allocate workloads fairly, model ADF’s values, and act as escalation point for complex or sensitive HR matters.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, providing:
    • Fair, consistent, and legally compliant guidance
    • Discretion and pastoral care for sensitive matters
  • Champion a mission-rooted culture by:
    • Developing wellbeing, resilience, and work-life integration programs for a globally dispersed team.
    • Encouraging employees to thrive in service of ADF’s cause.

Performance & Development

  • Collaborate with Talent Development to manage a performance framework that ensures:
    • Excellence, accountability, and growth across the organization
  • Identify training and succession needs for staff, prioritizing retention of high-potential talent.

Collaboration with Centers of Excellence

  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards teams.
  • Maintain HR records and HRIS while generating:
    • Reporting and analytics on headcount, turnover, engagement, and other key metrics.

International HR Coordination

  • Provide HR support and policy guidance across multiple offices, adapting frameworks to align with:
    • Local legal requirements
    • Cultural contexts
  • Lead international HR projects and initiatives, ensuring seamless global consistency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Residency in London (UK), with up to 10% international travel annually acceptable
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
  • 7+ years progressive HR experience, including:
    • 3+ years in a leadership role
    • Direct experience as a strategic HR business partner to senior leadership in a complex, multi-site organization
    • Strong knowledge of UK employment law
  • Proven capability to:
    • Design and implement HR strategies, policies, and culture initiatives
    • Handle employee relations, including challenging or sensitive cases, with fairness and excellent judgement

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent) certification
  • Experience with European and global employment frameworks
  • Valid UK work permit or UK citizenship (required)
