Job Description: Our Investment Banking team is a leading global franchise with over 500 professionals in North America, Europe and Asia. We provide our corporate and institutional clients with capital markets and financial advisory services and integrated solutions.
We are looking for a credible investment banker to join our European Technology Investment Banking team as a Director. We believe that diversity is key to our success in competitive global marketplaces and we embrace people with a wide range of unique experiences and abilities.
Position Overview Reporting to the Managing Director, ideal candidate's primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Is expected to be a highly credible investment banker with existing relationships in the Technology sector in the UK and Europe, with a track record of success in executing investment banking mandates.
- Will cover TD Securities existing Technology sector client relationships in the UK and Europe and help grow TD Securities client relationships in the Technology sector and grow business levels of both regional and cross border business predominantly in M&A.
- Will develop transaction ideas and discusses in the appropriate context both at the senior client level and with senior coverage team members.
- Can lead interactions with clients at all levels (CEO, CFO, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, etc.).
- Can develop revenue generation plans in all product areas & execute transactions.
- Demonstrates relevant market/industry/product knowledge.
- Can structure/deliver high impact presentations.
- Will direct, train and develop junior team members to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives and achieve full potential.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant fields with outstanding academic qualifications.
- Dedication to building a career in the investment banking industry, with 7+ years of prior investment banking or other relevant experience.
- Participation in the Investment Banking coverage of large cap companies.
- Driving qualitative industry analysis for the purpose of Investment Banking transaction origination, based on knowledge and interaction with key strategic and financial players.
- Using valuation/analysis tools by data providers/consultants.
- Experience drafting Offering memorandums, client presentations and other transaction and origination documents related to Investment Banking products and services.
- Demonstrate a combination of strong quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail and client focus.
- Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and oral communications skills.
- Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, team focus.

Candidates are expected to have extensive Technology Sector banking expertise, with relevant experience across various sub-sectors. Strong origination and execution skills, and experience creating financial models for assets and companies, particularly in Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets Advisory. High levels of energy suitable for driving a broad active calling plan across the region. Behavioural attributes compatible with TD Securities Investment Banking team and with the culture of TD Securities generally. Amongst other considerations, the candidates must be able to engender a high trust factor with their partners and clients, working as part of the Global Technology Investment Banking team.
