Strategic Business Development Role

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional to join a global law firm in a strategic leadership role. Working alongside senior partners, this position will shape the firm's growth within the infrastructure sector, influence major client relationships and drive business development initiatives across an international platform.

This senior appointment will take ownership of the firm's business development strategy for the infrastructure sector, combining market insight with commercial thinking to identify new opportunities, strengthen client relationships and enhance the firm's market profile. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the business development strategy for the infrastructure sector, identifying growth opportunities and emerging market trends.
  • Provide commercial insight and strategic advice to partners on client opportunities, competitive positioning and sector developments.
  • Lead client targeting initiatives, strategic account planning and revenue-focused business development campaigns.
  • Oversee major pitches, proposals, thought leadership, events and profile-raising activities to strengthen the firm's market presence.
  • Build strong relationships across practice groups and international offices, bringing together the right teams to pursue new opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the business development team while promoting collaboration and best practice across the wider business.
  • Analyse client, financial and market data to measure success, refine strategy and maximise commercial outcomes.

Requirements

This role would suit a commercially minded Business Development leader with significant infrastructure experience gained within an international law firm, professional services environment or infrastructure-focused advisory business. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of the infrastructure market, client buying behaviours and business development strategy, together with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders within a complex, matrix organisation. Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills are essential, alongside the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
