About the Role
Charlesbye is seeking an exceptional, politically astute, and highly motivated Director to take on a senior role within our integrated public affairs and communications team, based in our London Bridge office.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide senior strategic advice to clients, drawing on a deep understanding of the UK political landscape, parliament, Whitehall, and the media.
- Lead the development and execution of political and regulatory strategies that deliver measurable impact.
- Interpret political developments at pace, offering proactive advice and anticipating risks and opportunities.
- Oversee multiple accounts simultaneously, ensuring excellence in delivery, quality of work, and client service.
- Mentor and develop colleagues, setting high standards and supporting their growth.
- Drive new business by identifying opportunities, contributing to pitches, and representing Charlesbye externally.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to shape the firm’s offering as we scale.

Requirements
- Ten or more years in public affairs, communications, or a senior political environment, preferably with substantial experience working in or closely with the UK Government.
- Sharp political judgement and genuine fluency across parliament, Whitehall, and the media.
- A political and media network you actively maintain and deploy for clients.
- A track record of leading complex, high stakes mandates - legislative, regulatory, or reputational.
- The confidence to advise at board and C-suite level and the credibility to back it up.
- Strong written communication skills and a high bar for the quality of everything that goes out under your name.
- Ambition, drive, and an entrepreneurial spirit - this is a firm that’s building and we want people who want to help build it.
- Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities under pressure.
- A collaborative, thoughtful leadership style and genuine investment in the people around you.
