JOB DESCRIPTION

Connect to your Industry

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, we help our clients become leaders wherever they choose to compete. We invest in outstanding people, building teams of future thinkers with diverse talents and backgrounds, empowering them to achieve more. Our shared values – leading the way, serving with integrity, taking care of each other, fostering inclusion, and collaborating for measurable impact – guide every decision and action.

VCS is a hands-on, delivery-focused performance improvement team supporting Private Equity-backed businesses and corporates seeking accelerated performance improvement, particularly in enhancing their cash and EBITDA positions. We adopt a pragmatic approach, helping businesses overcome challenges by supporting management (and owners, where appropriate) to drive sustainable operational change. We encourage flexible working arrangements.

Connect to your opportunity

This is an opportunity to leverage your performance improvement and turnaround expertise in a stimulating environment. Our VCS practice is experiencing rapid growth, offering multiple opportunities for high-calibre delivery individuals. You will work closely with Private Equity and corporate clients, delivering cash and working capital improvement initiatives and turnarounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of complex cash and working capital improvement projects for clients.
  • Assess clients' value creation potential related to cash flow and working capital, developing and implementing high-impact performance improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise cash flow, including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and inventory management.
  • Work hands-on with management teams to secure buy-in and implement initiatives within accelerated timeframes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the broader Deloitte network to provide clients with a comprehensive overview of business operations, performance gaps, and improvement potential.
  • Manage and develop diverse teams within an inclusive team culture.
  • Actively contribute to business development, generating new leads and expanding existing projects.
  • Navigate and manage C-suite and other senior stakeholders effectively.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering cash and working capital improvement programs in a consultancy or corporate setting.
  • Proven experience in implementing cash and working capital initiatives (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Inventory optimisation).
  • Deep experience in cash flow forecasting, working capital optimisation, and cost reduction, with a focus on cash optimisation.
  • Strong track record in business development, including lead generation and project expansion.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with private equity portfolio companies is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility for international travel.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm). The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process or you can contact the Independence team upon request.
