Join us as we transform immunology and deliver medicines that help autoimmune patients get their lives back.
argenx is preparing for multi-dimensional expansion to reach more patients through a rich pipeline of differentiated assets, led by VYVGART, our first-in-class neonatal Fc receptor blocker approved for the treatment of gMG, and with the potential to treat patients across dozens of severe autoimmune diseases.
We are building a new kind of biotech company, one that maintains its roots as a science-based start-up and pushes our commitment to innovate across all corners of our business. We strive to inspire and grow our company, our partnerships, our science, and our people, because when we do, we deliver more for patients.
For the expansion of our market access team, argenx is looking for a Director, Market Access, UK.
The role
- A rare opportunity to shape the reimbursement and access strategy for one of the most innovative immunology companies, with multiple launches and indications expected over the coming years

- Acting as an enterprise thinker to develop a strategic UK voice / perspective and ensure that it is represented within the global access team;
- Optimising the late stage argenx pipeline, providing an opportunity to build, rather than simply maintain, market access strategies across several disease areas;
- Shaping future access pathways: The UK is entering a period of significant change, with MHRA and NICE reforms creating important ecosystem / policy opportunities to position the UK as a leading launch market.
PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION
The UK Market Access Director will be responsible for leading pricing, reimbursement, market access, and policy activities across the UK & Ireland, and execution across all payer and distribution channels.
More broadly, the UK MA Director will be a dotted-line member of the global argenx Market Access team, supporting global market access initiatives and working in close collaboration with other functions and select local-country teams.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop innovative UK & Ireland pricing and access strategies that are of high quality, based on value delivered and that are fit for purpose;
- Have deep country-level understanding of UK payer needs, decision-making approaches, strategies, and country reimbursement stakeholders and influencers;
- External engagement: Partner with the broader UK & Ireland life sciences ecosystems (NICE, SMC, NCPE, MHRA, Westminster, etc.) and industry groups (e.g. EMG);
- Collaborate with the UK Senior Leadership Team on the local pricing & reimbursement processes in the UK & Ireland;
- Coordinate the negotiation strategy for UK & Ireland, with a clearly defined negotiation approach, in close collaboration with the UK Senior Leadership Team and other functions as needed;
- Establish and maintain personal relationships with select payers, advisors, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders;
- Support the development of health economic and outcomes analyses (CEA, BIA, burden of disease, etc.) required for access, working in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams in medical affairs, evidence generation, HEOR and R&D;
- Develop compliant communication tools to be used in discussions with payers;
- Leads internal & external providers to ensure that Market Access deliverables are suitable for purpose & available in a timely fashion;
- Evaluates market access & P&R environmental developments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
