We’ve got the brands, we’ve got the stars, we’ve got the power to achieve our mission to entertain the planet – now all we’re missing is… YOU! Becoming a part of Paramount means joining a team of passionate people who not only recognize the power of content but also enjoy a touch of fun and uniqueness. Is this the role for you?
Channel 5 is looking for a Media Solutions Engineer to design and protect the broadcast and streaming workflows that power our linear, VOD, FAST and OTT platforms. This is a hands-on architecture and subject matter expert role, sitting at the intersection of engineering, compliance and revenue protection — you'll shape how content, metadata and monetisation systems work together across the business.
What will you be doing?
- Design end-to-end solutions across linear broadcast, VOD, FAST, OTT and metadata workflows, keeping streaming and linear platforms consistent
- Document technical architectures for playout, MAM, scheduling, ad-tech and compliance systems
- Act as senior subject matter expert on linear and VOD broadcasting, advising on system behaviour, integration constraints and risk
- Provide specialist 3rd-line support during incidents affecting revenue, ad-tech performance or contractual obligations
- Diagnose issues affecting ad classification, insertion, platform matching and monetisation
- Partner with operations, ad-sales and technology teams to find inefficiencies and design improvements
- Lead or contribute to proofs-of-concept, testing new approaches before wider rollout
- Support delivery teams through testing, go-live and hyper-care
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders through diagrams, impact assessments and documentation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
