The Director will lead compelling, commercially robust transformation engagements, bridging the gap between evolving technology and measurable business value.
This is not a tech-focused sales role—it’s a business transformation leadership role, using AI as a catalyst to:
- Redesign workflows
- Enhance performance
- Boost customer confidence in AI adoption
Your objective: convert AI opportunities into won client engagements by crafting business-led propositions that align with growth, cost reduction, customer satisfaction, and risk mitigation.
Role Overview
This position requires an experienced Director capable of working across business leaders, technology, data, risk, and change teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying AI-driven value creation opportunities
- Framing transformation cases
- Shaping technical solutions
- Leading pursuit teams to successful project wins
The role is AI-centric but client value-driven, focusing on redesigning work processes and building responsible, practical AI adoption strategies.
Key Objectives
Develop AI opportunities into successful client engagements by:
- Influencing senior stakeholders to prioritise AI investments
- Aligning AI adoption with growth, productivity, customer experience, risk reduction, and operational resilience
- Reimagining work through AI, generative AI, automation, and data-led decisioning
- Spoof coherent AI transformation roadmaps that drive measurable outcomes
- Acting as the strategic bridge between technical teams and leadership
Client Impact Areas
AI Transformation Leadership
- Drive AI/automation transformation across banking, insurance, wealth, trade finance, capital markets, and payments.
- Work with C-level executives to design bespoke AI solutions for customer journeys, process efficiency, risk mitigation, and governance.
Execution of Transformational Programs
- Lead EY.ai’s ‘AI Reimagination’ campaigns, integrating strategy, data, technology, regulation, and change for rapid execution.
- Develop proven business cases and roadmaps ensuring quick ROI on AI initiatives.
- Facilitate executive workshops exploring process redesign, employee-AI collaboration, service optimization, and operational agility.
Responsible AI Advocacy
- Address data privacy, regulatory compliance, model risk, operability, responsibility, and client duty.
- Deliver scalable, ethically aligned AI solutions that balance innovation with financial services compliance.

Key Responsibilities
1. Opportunity Shaping & Sales Leadership
- Own end-to-marketing pursuits for high-value AI transformation deals.
- Craft commercially differentiated propositions highlighting AI’s measurable impact.
- Work with client-facing teams and account managers to assess opportunity strength.
- Challenge client assumptions, directing focus toward business outcomes instead of pure technology adoption.
2. AI Business Transformation Advisory
- Redesign workflows and operations with AI, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation.
- Target areas: controller processing, fraud detection, customer service, compliance, risk monitoring, and asset optimization.
- Develop responsible AI governance frameworks aligned with business priorities and risks.
- Foster AI insights → action process design.
3. Client Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with board-level clients to reframe AI opportunities for alignment with strategic goals.
- Communicate AI’s true business value at an executive level, emphasizing return on investment and operational improvements.
- Chair inclusive workshops that FEAT impact, speed-to-value trade-offs, and organizational change.
4. Internal Leadership & Collaboration
- Jointly with multidisciplinary pursuit teams (AI enablement, data, risk, technology).
- Ensure aligned pricing, delivery feasibility, and compliance.
- Mentor junior staff in AI-enabled sales, value-capturing presentations, and proposal development.
- Deepen EY's capabilities in AI capability consultation, engagement delivery, and sales.
Essential Experience
- 15+ years of consulting experience ideally in a Big Four, strategy, technology or transformation environment.
- Proven financial services specialization and expertise across retail banking, investment banking, insurance, or fintech.
- Demonstrated record of shaping, winning, and delivering complex transformations (e.g., RFP responses, executive sponsorship-driven sales cycles).
- Extensive experience leveraging AI, automation, and data to drive business transformation.
- Client-facing negotiation, contract oversight, and revenue drive experience.
- Seasoned in regulatory (PRA, PSD2, GDPR) and model risk frameworks.
Essential Skills
- Business conversion & strategy transcription of AI/automation technologies into practical value propositions.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to negotiate win-win contracts.
- Profound knowledge of AI prediction/decision-making systems, including GenAI, oracle models, and AI ethics.
- Relationships management across complex businesses—preferably in regulated environments.
- Excellent storytelling, workshop-facilitation, and peer-debate facilitation for client and internal stakeholder alignment.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- NazMLElement for gen AI-systems implementations across core banking, contact centers, credit underwriting, or tax consulting areas.
- Hands-on AI roadmaps for scaling adoption beyond singular use-cases.
- Cloud, data platforms, and workflow technologies experience.
- Industry credentials, such as FCPA (for financial services), FCSI, PwC CGE, or Accenture DataIQ, are advantageous.
