The Opportunity
We are looking for a Director to join an established building surveying and project consultancy team in Manchester. This is a senior opportunity for a commercially minded professional who can take responsibility for delivering high-quality client work, developing relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the Manchester office. You’ll join a team currently comprising an Executive Director, Director, Chartered Surveyor, three Graduates and an Administrator, with this role being created to strengthen the senior team.
The Role
You will have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of projects and professional instructions, including:
- Project management
- Dilapidations
- Technical due diligence
- Contract administration
- Insurance reinstatement work
- Office fit-outs
The role offers exposure to a broad range of sectors, including education, commercial, industrial, office, retail and public sector.
You will work closely with a diverse client base, including Robertson FM, Equans, McLaren, commercial landlords, Local Authorities and Combined Authorities.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver building surveying and project management instructions from inception through to completion.
- Manage client relationships and act as a trusted technical and commercial adviser.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Provide technical expertise across dilapidations, TDD, contract administration and related surveying services.
- Identify and develop opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Support the growth and development of the Manchester team.
- Mentor and support junior surveyors and graduates.
- Contribute to the wider strategic development and performance of the Manchester office.
About You
We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Building Surveyor / Project Manager operating at Director or Associate Director level, with a strong track record across a range of professional and project-based instructions.

You’ll ideally bring:
- Chartered Building Surveying experience.
- Strong experience in project management and/or professional surveying services.
- Experience across several of the disciplines outlined above.
- Excellent client management and business development skills.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- The ability to lead projects and support the development of junior team members.
- A confident, personable approach with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
