Role Overview
We are looking for a senior financial services leader to drive strategic partnerships and licensing initiatives across Europe for our e-commerce platform. The role will be responsible for building near-term financial channel capabilities, developing mid-term licensed financial capabilities, and shaping the long-term financial ecosystem across Europe. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role, covering partnership strategy, commercial negotiations, financial product development, licensing collaboration, and business execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute partnership strategies across payments, instalment financing, banking, card schemes, and digital wallets in Europe.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with banks, payment institutions, fintechs, card networks, and other key financial partners.
- Lead major strategic partnerships and complex commercial negotiations, including business models, pricing, economics, risk allocation, data arrangements, and implementation structures.
- Drive the development of key financial capabilities, including payment conversion, long-term instalment financing, digital wallets, and account-based financial services, with clear ownership of business outcomes.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance and Tax teams to drive complex initiatives from strategy through execution.
- Establish clear business targets, project milestones, governance mechanisms, and management reporting for strategic partnership initiatives.
- Act as the business-side lead for European licensing initiatives, contributing to license scope, business model design, go-to-market strategy, and commercialisation plans.
- Identify emerging opportunities across the European financial ecosystem and build strategic partnerships that support the platform's long-term financial strategy.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, International Business, Law, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in payments, consumer finance, banking, card schemes, BNPL, fintech, or financial services partnerships.
- Strong understanding of the European payments and consumer finance markets, including relevant licensing and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record in strategic partnerships, senior-level negotiations, and complex cross-functional project leadership.
- Ability to independently develop commercial models, partnership structures, and phased implementation plans.
- Fluent business English, with the ability to lead senior-level negotiations, presentations, and commercial discussions in English.
- Strong ownership and results orientation, with demonstrated ability to operate effectively across multicultural and cross-functional environments.
- Willingness to be based in Europe and travel frequently across European markets.
- Established senior-level network across European banks, card schemes, payment institutions, and fintech companies.

Required Skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with European EMI, PI, consumer credit, or banking license applications and commercialisation.
- Experience leading digital wallet, white-label instalment financing, marketplace settlement, acquiring, or payment infrastructure projects.
- Experience in financial services at a large e-commerce platform, technology company, or global fintech.
- Existing senior relationships with key European financial institutions and ecosystem partners.
- Experience building new financial businesses or taking financial products from 0-to-1 launch through commercialisation.
