Director of Business Development
We’re looking for a commercially driven Director of Business Development to lead growth across the UK. You’ll be responsible for expanding our customer base and revenue, building strategic relationships, and securing high-value partnerships across financial institutions, fintechs, platforms and enterprise businesses.
This is a senior, hands-on commercial role for someone who can navigate complex sales cycles, engage credibly with senior decision-makers, and turn strategic opportunities into meaningful commercial outcomes.
The role will also involve close collaboration with colleagues across the US, Europe and other international markets, as well as teams at Group HQ.
What You’ll Do
- Own the UK business development strategy, identifying and pursuing growth opportunities across marketplaces, platforms and enterprise accounts.
- Build and manage a strong, high-value pipeline across priority sectors, focusing your efforts on opportunities with the greatest strategic and commercial potential.
- Lead the end-to-end partnership cycle, from identifying and qualifying prospects through solution design, commercial structuring, negotiation and ultimately launch.
- Position and sell an API-first technology platform, demonstrating how it can address complex cross-border payments and financial infrastructure challenges.
- Lead senior-level commercial and contractual negotiations, building trusted relationships with C-suite executives and other key stakeholders.
- Shape and strengthen our go-to-market strategy, using partner feedback, market intelligence and competitor insights to refine our positioning, pricing, messaging and sales materials.
- Bring the UK market into the heart of our product strategy, translating customer and market feedback into actionable insights for Product, Strategy and senior leadership.
- Continuously develop our BD playbook, identifying what works, codifying best practices and improving how we identify, engage and convert strategic opportunities.
- Act as the internal voice of the UK market, helping shape our priorities, investments and approach as the business scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
