Business Development Director | Life Sciences Consultancy

I’m currently working on an exciting search for a Business Development Director with a specialist consultancy operating at the intersection of drug development, clinical pharmacology, and quantitative sciences.

This is a senior commercial role for someone who can take ownership of the full sales cycle, from identifying and developing opportunities through to closing and expanding strategic client relationships.

The ideal profile will have:

  • Proven BD experience within the pharma, biotech, CRO, or life sciences consulting space
  • Experience selling complex, high-value scientific or technical services
  • The ability to engage credibly with senior scientific stakeholders and decision-makers
  • A consultative approach to business development rather than transactional sales
  • Strong understanding of the drug development landscape
  • Confidence leading opportunities independently while bringing in subject-matter experts at the right stage
  • Experience building long-term relationships with sophisticated pharma and biotech clients

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
