Business Development Director | Northwest / Field-Based / Remote | Competitive Salary + Bonus

Our client is a well-established and growing business within the renewable energy sector, serving commercial organisations across the UK. As part of a continued growth strategy, they are seeking to appoint a Business Development Director to lead commercial sales strategy and develop key relationships on a national basis.

This is a field-based position suited to a senior sales professional who is confident operating independently and building relationships directly with clients. The role will be conducted primarily on a home and field basis, with occasional travel to head office as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the commercial sales strategy in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Drive new business development and revenue growth across the commercial sector
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of products and services offered to clients
  • Build a sustainable sales pipeline through professional networks, relationships and industry engagement
  • Manage and convert inbound leads generated through marketing activity
  • Oversee client relationships from initial engagement through to successful delivery
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure consistently high standards of client service
  • Represent the organisation at industry events and client engagements

Candidate Requirements

  • A demonstrable track record in senior B2B sales or business development
  • Proven experience building and managing a strong, sustainable sales pipeline
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
  • A collaborative, commercially astute approach to business development
  • Willingness to travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays
