Director of Business Development
Location: London
An exciting new hospitality business is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Director of Business Development to lead its commercial strategy, identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with a strong track record of winning new contracts, developing commercial partnerships and identifying new business opportunities within the hospitality sector.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Director of Business Development / Commercial Director will develop and execute the company's commercial strategy, with responsibility for growing the business through new contracts, strategic partnerships and new revenue opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and execute the company's commercial strategy in line with overall business objectives
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the hospitality sector
- Build a strong pipeline of potential clients, contracts and commercial partnerships
- Lead the process of winning new hospitality contracts, from identifying opportunities through to negotiation and close
- Develop and maintain relationships with key hospitality clients, operators, owners, developers and strategic partners
- Identify emerging market opportunities, new sectors and potential revenue streams
- Develop commercial proposals, pitches and partnership opportunities
- Oversee contract negotiations, commercial agreements and pricing strategies
- Ensure commercial opportunities deliver sustainable revenue and margin
- Lead and develop the sales and commercial teams to achieve revenue targets
- Work closely with operations, procurement and delivery teams to ensure commercial commitments can be successfully delivered
- Provide commercial insight, forecasting and pipeline reporting to the executive leadership team
- Monitor hospitality market trends, competitor activity and the wider supplier landscape to identify opportunities and risks
- Support wider business development and growth initiatives across the company

About You
We are looking for a commercially focused senior leader with a proven track record of business development and contract acquisition within hospitality.
You will ideally have:
- Significant experience in a senior commercial, sales or business development role within hospitality
- A proven track record of winning new contracts and generating new business
- Strong knowledge of the hospitality market and an established network of relevant industry contacts
- Experience identifying and converting new business opportunities within restaurants, hotels, hospitality groups, venues, F&B or related sectors
- Strong commercial acumen, with a clear understanding of revenue, margin, pricing and profitability
- Experience developing strategic partnerships and long-term client relationships
- Strong negotiation, pitching and presentation skills
- Experience leading a commercial or business development team
- Strong analytical, forecasting and pipeline-management skills
- An entrepreneurial and proactive approach, with the ability to identify opportunities rather than simply respond to them
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- The ability to work strategically while remaining hands-on in winning and developing business
