This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Business Transformation & Operations based in the United Kingdom.
This is a senior, high-ownership leadership role combining business transformation, operational excellence, client advisory, and commercial growth.
You will diagnose complex organizational challenges across people, processes, technology, and management systems.
The role goes beyond strategy, requiring you to turn recommendations into structured plans, implementation, training, and measurable outcomes.
You will work directly with clients to understand their needs and shape engagements that address their most important business challenges.
You will also contribute to proposals, presentations, business development, and closing new opportunities.
Strong judgment and the confidence to constructively challenge senior leadership will be essential to driving meaningful change.
This opportunity is particularly suited to an experienced transformation leader who wants broad ownership and the potential to grow into a General Manager-level role.

- Design and redesign organizational structures, workflows, processes, accountability models, and management systems to improve effectiveness and scalability.

- Lead implementation initiatives from planning through execution and adoption, ensuring recommendations are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate training, change management, and stakeholder adoption activities, and verify that implemented solutions deliver the intended outcomes.
- Lead client discovery sessions to understand business challenges, objectives, operational realities, and desired outcomes.
- Translate client requirements into appropriate transformation strategies, service engagements, and practical solutions.
- Contribute to proposals, presentations, commercial discussions, and new-business development activities.
- Support the sales process by identifying opportunities, shaping solutions, communicating value, and helping move prospective engagements toward closure.
- Build strong relationships with clients and senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor throughout transformation initiatives.
- Constructively challenge executives and senior leaders when data, evidence, or operational realities indicate that a different approach is required.
- Apply AI, automation, and technology-enabled workflows to improve organizational efficiency, decision-making, and service delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain alignment across transformation priorities, implementation activities, and business objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
