Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours) – Permanent
Location: The University of Huddersfield - London Campus, Stratford, Greater London

ABOUT THE ROLE

Strategic Leadership

  • Work with the School leadership team to achieve the aspirational targets for student outcomes and satisfaction and other commercial and contractual KPIs
  • Contribute to insights and evidence to inform strategic development of the partnership, including courses and progression routes of pathway programmes to maximise recruitment opportunities and keep offering current
  • Deliver and continuously improve the Industry Engagement and Employability strategy, evaluating its effectiveness and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Attend and actively contribute to relevant partnership committees and work with university colleagues through approved liaison points

Leadership, Management and Personal Development

  • Actively lead the careers and industry engagement team, motivating them to deliver high-quality student experience and graduate outcomes, as well as excellent client experience for external stakeholders
  • Ensure all persons employed are suitably qualified, trained, honest and experienced and carry out their duties in a professional manner in line with applicable laws and regulations
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, ensuring that employment activities are planned and delivered within an agreed budget and meet operational margins
  • Provide effective performance management of direct reports, including: setting personal objectives and KPIs; regularly reviewing performance of direct reports; and conducting formal performance reviews according to Study Group policy and procedures
  • Facilitate, encourage and support staff to participate in regular continuous professional development activity

Operational Management

  • Lead the planning, management and delivery of all careers services, industry and employability programmes and activities that facilitate student internships and job placements
  • Orchestrate industry-related events such as careers fairs, guest lectures, and workshops
  • Liaise with academic teams on opportunities to embed employability in the curriculum
  • Protect and promote the name and reputation of Study Group and the University of Huddersfield, acting in an ambassador role and participating in any recruitment or other beneficial activities as required
  • Be accountable for key performance indicators related to employability and industry engagement areas, monitoring data and impact
  • Have due regard to the Prevent duty and relevant policy when organising external speakers, ensuring all staff understand and use the correct approval processes, requiring input from DSL and appropriate timeframes for Head of School sign off

Partnership Management

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key industry and commercial contacts to support delivery at the University of Huddersfield London
  • Manage communication and outreach efforts to maintain strong industry relationships.
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote university programs to industry partners.
  • Work with designated faculty, career services, and alumni relations at The University of Huddersfield to enhance student experiential learning opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between key stakeholders and industry partners to align academic programmes with industry needs
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions to ensure that the Campus grows, develops and remains an attractive proposition for international students and relevant stakeholders
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of School

ABOUT YOU

  • Masters degree, essential
  • Track record of successful industry engagement
  • Experience working in an international environment, desirable
  • Experience of working in the HE sector, desirable
  • Experience of leading innovation and facilitating change
  • Experience of developing strategy and marketing plans
  • Experience of partnership working or partnership management in the education sector
