Salary - £55,000 per annum
Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern - Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm

Priory Hospital Cardiff has an opportunity for a Director of Clinical Services to join our team.

Priory Hospital Cardiff, Cardiff, South Wales is a low secure service for males and females with a personality disorder, learning disability or mental health diagnosis, delivered across three bespoke therapeutic placements (BTPs). It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes nearby providing access into and around Cardiff and a train station approximately 1 mile from the hospital. The M4 motorway is also close by, providing wider regional access.


What you'll be doing

We’re looking for an experienced and confident Director of Clinical Services to provide senior nursing leadership and support the Hospital Director in delivering high-quality clinical care. You’ll play a key role in leading and developing the nursing team, promoting best practice and ensuring the service continues to meet the changing needs of patients and staff.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide senior clinical and nursing leadership across the service.
  • Support the Hospital Director with the effective delivery of clinical services.
  • Lead, support and develop the wider nursing team, acting as a positive role model.
  • Deputise for the Ward Manager when required.
  • Respond flexibly to changes and the developing needs of the service.
  • Promote Priory values and a culture of quality, continuous improvement and excellent patient care.

What you'll bring to the role

You will be a Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN and 7 years’ post-qualifying experience, alongside relevant clinical experience and strong nursing leadership skills. You will have a proven ability to support, lead and develop nursing teams, with a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality. You will also demonstrate flexible and innovative approaches to clinical practice, excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, and the confidence to take on additional responsibilities and deputise when required.
