I am working with a globally renowned visual effects creative studio operating at the intersection of advertising, immersive experience and film known for pushing the boundaries of storytelling through world-class craft and emerging technology, to find their next Senior Communications Director. As the industry undergoes rapid disruption, my client is looking for a visionary leader to lead on integrated communications for their Advertising and Immersive divisions during an exciting period of business transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Positioning — Drive the strategic marketing and communications approach supporting the business’s ongoing transformation. Anticipate and shape client perceptions of the company’s creative product and its innovative use of technology, including AI and other emerging tools.
  • Team Management & Development — Lead the Advertising and Immersive marketing team, providing clear direction and alignment across all global sites.
  • Brand & Communications Strategy — Direct PR, communications and social strategy, ensuring messaging builds brand awareness, highlights market differentiation and stays true to the brand’s tone of voice.
  • Contemporary Relevance — Stay ahead of how communication and social media actually work today: platform-native content, current social cadence and language and the shifting landscape of search, including SEO and emerging GEO/AI search behaviours.
  • Stakeholder Engagement — Act as a highly credible, confident communicator with senior internal leadership, journalists, publications and external partners. Represent the business with genuine presence at industry events; comfortable presenting and being a visible ambassador for the brand.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration — Partner with the wider marketing team and other departments to ensure cohesive internal communications, support recruitment activity and evaluate major industry opportunities such as talks, panels and speaking engagements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
