Our client is a seed stage TechBio (£2.7m funding) building a platform solution for identifying drug targets for neurological diseases with in-vitro validation.

About the role

Lead computational biology strategy for target identification in neurology, combining hands-on pipeline development with scientific leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead QTL mapping and integrate multi-omics / functional genomics for target prioritisation
  • Build and own multi-omics pipelines (QC, normalisation, analysis)
  • Collaborate with ML engineers on model design, feature selection, training, evaluation, interpretation
  • Define and maintain knowledge graph schemas and computational evidence layers
  • Translate outputs into biological hypotheses and support in vitro validation & assay design
  • Shape strategy, mentor team, and drive best practices (reproducibility, documentation)

Requirements

  • PhD + 5-8 years in computational biology (multi-omic target discovery)
  • Strong Python, R, HPC/cloud computing
  • Experience with transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenomics
  • Proven work in target discovery, prioritisation, in silico validation
  • Strong statistical analysis & data visualisation
  • Neurology / neurodegeneration experience (preferred)
  • Biotech/pharma background + strong communication & problem-solving
