Director of Construction & Technical
Leap29 have a fantastic opportunity available, on behalf of a Renewables IPP business, who focus on the full project lifecycle including Development, Construction and Project Delivery.
This position is a leadership role for Director of Construction & Technical to lead the delivery of our portfolio of utility scale grid connected renewable energy projects.
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for all technical and construction aspects of project delivery, leading a team of Technical Project Managers and Construction Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a key leadership position with responsibility for driving technical excellence, construction performance, and successful project outcomes across our renewable energy portfolio.

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Technical Project Managers and Construction Project Managers.
- Provide strategic direction across all technical and construction activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Technical & Construction Management
- Oversee the technical design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of renewable energy projects.
- Maintain responsibility for all technical aspects of project delivery from detailed design through to handover.
- Review and approve engineering solutions, technical specifications, and design changes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, grid connection standards, and company policies.
- Manage technical risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management
- Act as the senior technical and construction representative for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with EPC contractors, consultants, network operators, and project partners.
- Support contract negotiations and oversee contractor performance throughout project delivery.

Health, Safety & Quality
- Champion the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.
- Ensure robust project controls, governance, and quality assurance processes are maintained across the portfolio.
Essential
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, preferably with an Electrical focus.
- Significant experience delivering utility scale renewable energy projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical and project delivery teams.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design, construction management, commissioning, and project governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and commercial skills.
