Director, Customer Success & Service
Basic salary: £110k to £125k
Total compensation: £156k
A Director, Customer Success & Service opportunity has emerged with a fast-growing scientific technology business operating at the cutting edge of biological imaging. Could this be your next senior leadership role in a company that is genuinely changing how scientists see the world?
The Role
Based 3 days a week in the Oxford office, the Director, Customer Success & Service will take ownership of the entire post-sale customer journey, leading a distributed team of approximately 8 people that spans field service engineers, customer support, and applications specialists. You will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing organisation that drives system uptime, accelerates customer adoption, and maximises service contract renewal rates. This is a hands-on leadership role with real commercial accountability, including full ownership of the service P&L and measurable performance targets tied to renewal performance and financial outcomes.
Day to day you will define and monitor service-level metrics, drive reductions in repair turnaround times, and work cross-functionally to recover at-risk accounts while identifying opportunities for expansion and customer advocacy. You will also shape the future of support delivery by developing digital and AI-enabled capabilities that improve responsiveness and scale.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
