About Sectora Group
Sectora Group is partnering on a confidential search for a Director of Cyber Security & Compliance to join an established international business at an exciting point in its growth and evolution.
The Opportunity
We are looking for someone who wants to own, challenge, and evolve our cyber security framework. This role is not for someone who simply wants to maintain an existing framework.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Group CIO, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation's cyber security capability across its UK operations, while contributing to the wider technology and security strategy of an international group.
- Operate with significant autonomy, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery across cyber security, information security, data privacy, regulatory compliance, technology platforms, and third-party security partnerships.
- Influence the organisation's journey as its technology environment becomes increasingly important to its future.
- Work closely with the CIO, technology and development teams, and external security partners to strengthen cyber resilience, mature the organisation's security capability, and ensure its platforms, systems, data, and critical assets remain protected against an increasingly sophisticated threat landscape.
Areas of Ownership
- Defining and continually evolving the organisation's cyber security strategy.
- Identifying emerging cyber threats, attack trends, and technology risks before they become business problems.
- Leading information security governance, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintaining and developing frameworks and certifications including ISO 27001, alongside wider privacy requirements such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Working closely with software development and technology teams to embed security into platforms and technical decision-making.
- Managing and challenging external cyber security and technology partners.
- Developing vendor risk assessment and security assurance across third-party technology relationships.
- Strengthening disaster recovery and business continuity capability.
- Owning security policies, procedures, risk maps, and security standards across the organisation.
- Supporting client security due diligence, tenders, and RFPs.
- Planning and coordinating the response to cyber security incidents and breaches.
- Translating cyber risk into clear, commercially relevant recommendations for senior leadership.

Who We're Looking For
We aren't necessarily looking for someone who has already held the title of CISO. We're much more interested in capability, judgement, ownership, and ambition.
You may currently be a Head of Cyber Security, Head of Information Security, Cyber Security Director, Information Security Director, or an experienced cyber leader ready to take a broader step.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong experience across cyber and information security.
- Experience operating within Microsoft / Azure environments.
- A strong understanding of security within software or technology-led environments.
- Experience working with development or engineering teams.
- Practical knowledge of ISO 27001 and wider security and compliance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data privacy and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing MSSPs, security vendors, or other strategic technology partners.
- The confidence to make decisions and recommendations rather than simply identify problems.
- The ability to communicate cyber risk credibly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Location
The organisation has a significant technology presence on the South Coast, and we'd particularly welcome applications from candidates across Dorset, Hampshire, and the wider South Coast.
However, finding the right person matters more than finding the closest person, so there is flexibility around location and hybrid working for an exceptional candidate.
Salary: £90,000 – £100,000 depending on experience
