Director of Data Research | Remote | £100-150k + Bonus

An exciting opportunity to join a growing alternative data business as Director of Data Research, leading the evaluation and development of new datasets and data-driven insights.

The role will suit someone with a strong background in data research, alternative data, data discovery or dataset evaluation, with experience turning complex or unstructured data into meaningful commercial insights.

You'll work closely with the Data Partnerships and wider commercial teams, helping assess new data opportunities and develop robust analytical approaches.

Ideal background:

  • Data discovery / alternative data
  • Dataset evaluation and validation
  • Python and strong analytical skills
  • Statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
  • Experience turning messy data into useful insights
  • Strong commercial and stakeholder management skills

This is a research and analytical leadership role rather than a pure ML engineering position.
