Location: Nottingham (Hybrid)

Brady Solicitors is entering an exciting new phase of growth following private equity investment, and we're looking for an exceptional Director of Debt Operations to lead our largest and most commercially significant department.
Responsible for approximately 60% of the firm's revenue, this is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an ambitious, commercially focused operational leader who thrives on driving performance, leading high-performing teams, and delivering measurable business results.
This isn't a traditional legal management role. We're looking for someone with a proven track record of leading large-scale operations, improving commercial performance, and building teams that consistently deliver outstanding results.
What You'll Be Doing
As Director of Debt Operations, you will:
- Lead a high-volume service charge recoveries operation, ensuring exceptional operational performance.
- Take ownership of departmental revenue, profitability, cash performance, and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement through technology, automation, and AI.
- Develop and inspire a high-performing team.
- Build scalable processes to support ambitious business growth.
- Use data and performance insights to identify opportunities and drive better commercial decisions.
- Partner with clients and senior stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and long-term relationships.
- Play a key role within the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction of the business.

About You
We’re looking for a commercially driven operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and has a proven track record of delivering results. You may be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, or you may bring an equivalent track record of senior leadership within a professional services environment. What matters most is your ability to demonstrate strong commercial delivery, financial acumen, and operational impact.
You will bring:
- Significant leadership experience in high-volume service or operational environments.
- A track record of driving revenue growth, profitability, and performance improvement.
- Experience leading large teams through managers.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, including budgets, forecasting, reporting, and controls.
- Expertise in operational change, process improvement, and transformation.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience in debt recovery, collections, litigation operations, regulated service environments, or professional services operating models. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, strong stakeholder management, and excellent communication and influencing skills. Experience of technology, automation, AI adoption, and business transformation would be a distinct advantage.
Ultimately, you’re someone who can identify commercial opportunities, build operational capability, and deliver measurable financial results.
