Salary: Up to £141,000

We're looking for an exceptional leader to become our next Director of Education and Learning.
Role Overview:
- Reporting to: Corporate Director for Children, Families and Education
- Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership across education, SEND and inclusion, school improvement, and learning services.
- Shape the future of education in the borough.
- Ensure children and young people receive the support, opportunities, and high-quality provision they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Lambeth's Education and Learning Strategy.
- Champion high standards across schools and early years settings.
- Oversee services that support vulnerable children and young people.
- Work closely with schools, academy trusts, partners, communities, and elected members.
- Drive improvement, innovation, and system-wide collaboration.
Contribution to Corporate Agenda:
- As a member of the council's senior leadership team, contribute to the wider corporate agenda.
- Help deliver the Borough Plan.
- Ensure education plays a central role in improving outcomes and tackling inequality.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experienced and credible education leader with a deep understanding of the local authority role in education.
- Strong track record of improving educational outcomes.
- Experience in leading complex services and delivering successful change within a large and politically sensitive environment.
- Essential experience of SEND and inclusion, school improvement, and partnership working.
- Ability to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and build confidence across the education system.
- Share Lambeth's commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and social justice.
- Passionate about creating opportunities for every child and young person to achieve their potential.
