We’re the UK’s largest independent provider of high-quality special needs education, empowering every child to thrive through personalised learning, innovation, and opportunity.

About the Role

As Director of Education Practice and Standards, you will provide strategic leadership across our specialist education services, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and practice across 60+ SEN schools.

Working closely with senior leaders, headteachers, and central teams, you will champion exceptional SEND provision, drive continuous improvement, and ensure our schools deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people.

This is a remote role with regular travel required across our schools and services. You will lead and develop a team of education professionals, supporting consistent practice, quality assurance, and innovation across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a clear education strategy that supports OFG’s mission, values, and commitment to outstanding SEND provision.
  • Provide strategic oversight of education quality, ensuring schools meet or exceed Ofsted and regulatory expectations.
  • Lead quality assurance activity across schools, using data, insight, and evidence-based practice to drive improvement.
  • Develop and embed consistent approaches to teaching, learning, assessment, safeguarding, and curriculum delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation, statutory frameworks, EHCP processes, and local authority expectations.
  • Champion personalised, inclusive, and innovative curriculum approaches that meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Promote the effective use of assistive technology and emerging approaches to improve accessibility and outcomes.
  • Lead professional development programmes, supporting staff expertise in SEND practice, behaviour support, and therapeutic approaches.
  • Coach and mentor headteachers and senior leaders to strengthen leadership capacity across services.
  • Build effective relationships with families, local authorities, and external partners to support positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with executive colleagues to support organisational priorities, resource planning, and continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
